The county is situated on a plain between the Siret and Prut Rivers. The river also crosses Jijia River, and Iasi is situated on the banks of one of its branches, Bahlui. The Southern part is occupied by the Central Plateau , with altitudes above 400 meters, while the North part is occupied by the Moldavian Plain . In the West, the county is crossed by the Siret River corridor and by the last fragments of Fãlticeni Plateau, and also by the Great Hill, with altitudes of over 500 meters.
