Vrancea is a county that is situated in the historical regions of Moldova (at the North of the Milcov River) and Muntenia (at the South of the Milcov River) in Romania. It has an area of 4863 km ², its county seat being Focsani city. The main watercourses: Siret (between Adjud and Namoloasa), Susita, Putna, Milcov Râmnicu Sãrat (from Ciorãºti until its flowing in Siret). Ordered in steps from West to the East, it includes Vrancei Mountains (with the intramontane depressions Greºu and Lepsa), Sub-Carpathian Hills and Lower Siret Plain, framed in the North-East by the Plateau of Moldavia (Tutova Hills) and in the South-East by the Râmnic Plain.
