Dambovita County is located in the South of the Meridional Carpathians, at the intersection of the 45 degrees North Parallel latitude with the Meridian of 25.30 degrees Eastern longitude. It stretches on an area of 434.5 square km, covering 1.7% of Romania's surface, being situated on the thirty-seventh place between the country's counties. It adjoins Arges County in the West, Prahova County in the East, Ilfov County in the South-East, Giurgiu and Teleorman Couties in the South and Brasov County in the North.
