Tulcea County is located in South-Eastern part of Romania, in the North of Dobrogea, and it is being crossed by the 45 Parallel, in the West, in the North being bordered by the Danube and in the East by the Black Sea. Due to its geographical position, Tulcea County has almost all the forms of relief of Romania. Here two geographical groups meet: The North Dobrogea's Plateau, the Hercieni Mountains' relics (the oldest mountains in Romania) and the Danube Delta, a groud yet molding, which together with with the lakes complex Razem-Sinoe occupies an area of 4470 square km.
